ST. GEORGES DAY  Wednesday 23rd April
Unfortunately it's not a public holiday (yet!) but like many other pubs and clubs we will observe this event as St. George is the patron saint of England. His emblem, a red cross on a white background, is the flag of England, and part of the British flag. The club celebrates with some special promotions on selected wines, ales, Strong Bow and Gordons gin.

The club will be holding it's OPEN WEEK during the East Preston Village Festival Week from Saturday 31st May to Sunday 8th June with the aim to attract non members in our community to see the club for themselves who may then wish to become new members so the club can continue to be viable and provide the many events, activities, entertainment as well as the lunches and very reasonably priced bar. NON MEMBERS are always very welcome to come into the club at anytime to get a taste of what's going on and find out about the club.

D Day 70th Anniversary Appeal
The Club will be commemorating the historical event on Friday 6th June by laying a wreath at the War Memorial at 11am. It is also planned to have a display of memorabilia at the club and everyone is very welcome to come in to view the items and partake in some refreshments.

If you have anything or know someone who may have such items we would be very interested to display these on the day in commemoration of those who fought for our country. Photographs, pictures, log books, letters, postcards, newspapers, uniforms, medals, equipment, munitions etc. Please contact Malcolm Reene at the club 01903 770172 or please feel welcome to come into the club in Sea Road, BN16 1JL to see a staff member.

                  Party On The Green

The 6th year of Party On The Green aims to attract families from our village and neighboring areas. Local traders, kids zone and numerous activities including Face Painting, Tombola, Grand Draw, the traditional village Tug O War, Birds Of Prey and more are planned. Last year the event attracted over 1000 people. It's hardly surprising the Real Ale Marquee was popular as was the Hog Roast, Teas, Wines, Candy Floss, Popcorn and Ice Creams. This year promises to be as good, starting at 12 noon and live music starting at 5pm from AMALGAMATION and by popular demand, VOLTZ are back again!

Last year the music started straight after the Grand Draw at 5pm featured The NUTS who are an indie rock band and  played a set of their music including recent single Angelina Jolie as well as many well known favourites. Two of the members also play in STEEL STRUM who have appeared at the RBL Club since.

VOLTZ headlined the event for the second year running playing covers from the 70s and 80s as well as some vintage rock and roll. They played till gone 9pm to the delight of the many who stayed to the end of the event. VOLTZ are visiting the club again in 2014 on the 24th May and New Years Eve.

Check out the COMING EVENTS section to see whats scheduled later this year at the club.

BILLIE, guitar and vocals, who was also accompanied by Jean playing harmonica on their unique cover of Karma Chameleon, provided a refreshing variety of songs enjoyed by the many who stayed on in the sunshsine to see the live music on the green.
